Quantitative Ecologist

About me

I am a quantitative ecologist focused on species distributions and community ecologies in a changing climate.I use geospatial analysis, statistical models, and big data techniques to solve complicated ecological issues from fisheries in a changing climate to protected area designations. I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Sanford School of Public Policy and Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University researching climate change, ecosystem health, and human health. I previously held a postdoc position at the Nye Lab at the University of North Carolina – Institute of Marine Sciences. I received my PhD in Marine Science and Conservation from Duke University, where I was advised by Dr. Patrick Halpin (Marine Geospatial Ecology Lab). From 2017-2019 I was a Nereus fellow, funded by the Nippon Foundation. I received a Masters of Environmental Management in Coastal Environmental Management from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Hispanic Studies from Davidson College.
